ASPHYX

The band was formed in 1987 by Bob Bagchus and Tonny Brookhuis. Eric Daniels was found as a second guitarist and Chuck Colli joined on vocals and bass guitar; this line up released the Enter the Domain demo. In March 1989, Colli was replaced by Theo Loomans and the band recorded the Crush the Cenotaph demo. Brookhuis then left the band and the remaining three recorded Embrace the Death, an album which was never released because of label problems.

After leaving Pestilence in the early 1990s, Martin van Drunen joined Asphyx and the band signed to Century Media Records. After the release of their first album, The Rack, they went on a European tour with Entombed, followed by a tour with Bolt Thrower and Benediction in 1992. Shortly after the recording of the second album, Last One on Earth, van Drunen left the band, to be replaced by Ron van der Pol. HIGH ON FIRE

High on Fire was founded in 1998 by former Sleep guitarist Matt Pike, drummer Des Kensel, and bassist George Rice (from Dear Deceased, who originally auditioned to be the band's vocalist). GORE BEYOND NECROPSY

Gore Beyond Necropsy (GBN) was the name of a musical group formed in 1989 in Hadano city, Kanagawa prefecture, Japan. The group have had a prolific output of releases. They play a hybrid style of chaotic grindcore/noisegrind which they refer to as "Analdrillinggrind Harshit Core!!".

In 1997, Gore Beyond Necropsy undertook their first tour outside Japan when they toured Australia with Victoria's Warsore and returned the compliment by arranging Japanese dates for Warsore and issuing a split 7" single through Sterilized Decay Records. As well as doing numerous split releases, they have also collaborated with Japanese noise artist Merzbow. Their shared album Rectal Anarchy release by Relapse Records was far from subtle; the album cover was graced by an enlarged anus and the songs were warped cover versions revolving around the theme of scat.

"Discordance Axis was a three piece grind core band that started in NJ around 1992. The band started after myself and Rob's previous band disintegrated and we found Dave at a Human Remains show. We asked him to play a split 7" with us and it snowballed from there.

The pattern was, we got together and wrote and recorded some material, then would part ways. We never really played live much because...well we couldn't manage to sell more than 500 copies of any of our records and we all had conflicting schedules.

We get asked why we only toured Japan. That's easy. That's where all our records sold. And most of the bands we liked were from over there.

Steve Procopio played live a lot with us and recorded the guitar tracks on the Necropolitan EP. Rob Marton plays guitar on every other recording we produced. Steve and Rob were two really gifted people and I feel fortunate to have played with both them and Dave.

There's a much more detailed band history in the Original Sound Version and Jouhou resissue CD's that Hydrahead released, but in brief, Discordance Axis started in 1992 and broke up in 2001. All of our music has been re-issued on CD except for our tracks on the Necropolitan EP(because the master is lost) and our track from the Snarl Out Vol 2 7" comp record.

Desaster formed in 1988. The band had line-up issues before Infernal, the only remaining member of the original line-up, found musicians to continue Desaster in 1990. Okkulto and Odin joined the band in 1992.

After the two demos, The Fog of Avalon and Lost in the Ages (which Alexander von Meilenwald of Nagelfar and The Ruins of Beverast considers to be one of the five most important recordings for the German scene, Merciless Records released a split-7" with Ungod in 1995, the band's vinyl-debut. In 1996 the first album A Touch of Medieval Darkness was released. The line-up for their following release, the 1997 Stormbringer mini-album, included new drummer Tormentor.

In 1998, the band released the limited Ride on for Revenge picture-single; one of the songs was also released on the Thrashing Holocaust compilation CD released via Necropolis Records in 1999. Hellfire's Dominion, the second album, was released in 1998, which included the song "Metalized Blood" with guest vocals from Wannes of Pentacle, Lemmy of the German speed metal band Violent Force, and Toto of Living Death. By the time it was released, Desaster were considered the most important German black metal band by Rock Hard journalist Wolf-Rüdiger Mühlmann and, according to his review, the whole underground scene; his colleague Götz Kühnemund would later call them "Germany's leading black thrashers". During the recording sessions of the second album, Desaster also recorded the song "Proselytism Real" for the Sodom tribute CD Homage to the Gods,  which was released as a bonus CD of the Code Red album's limited edition.

The band celebrated their 10th anniversary in late 1999 with the Ten Years of Total Desaster double LP. Enslaved is a Norwegian extreme metal band formed in Haugesund in June 1991. They are currently based inBergen, Norway. Enslaved was formed in July 1991 by Ivar Bjørnson and Grutle Kjellson (also known as Kjetil Grutle) when they were 13 and 17 years old, respectively. The band name was inspired by an Immortal demo track, "Enslaved in Rot." After many line-up changes throughout their career, Bjørnson and Kjellson are the only remaining original members. By 2004 the line-up solidified with guitarist Arve "Ice Dale" Isdal, drummer Cato Bekkevold, and keyboardist/vocalist Herbrand Larsen.

Prior to forming Enslaved, Bjørnson and Kjellson had been playing in a death metal band called Phobia, but like many in the burgeoning extreme metal movement, they were looking for new sources of inspiration and expression.Though Enslaved began as a prototypical Norwegian black metal band in 1991, by 1993 they were incorporating song structures unusual for the genre; several of their earlier songs reach the ten-minute mark (their debut album, Vikingligr Veldi, has only one song that is under ten minutes). THE MISFITS

The Misfits are an American rock band often recognized as the progenitors of the horror punk subgenre, blending punk rock and other musical influences with horror film themes and imagery. Founded in 1977 in Lodi, New Jersey by singer and songwriter Glenn Danzig, the group had a fluctuating lineup during its first six years with Danzig and bassist Jerry Only as the only consistent members. During this time they released several EPs and singles, and with Only's brother Doyle as guitarist, the albums Walk Among Us (1982) and Earth A.D./Wolfs Blood (1983), both considered touchstones of the early-1980s hardcore punk movement. The Misfits disbanded in 1983 and Danzig went on to form Samhain and then the eponymously-named Danzig. SKIN CHAMBER

Skin Chamber was one of side projects of Controlled Bleeding members Paul Lemos and Chris Moriarty. INFEST

Infest was an influential American hardcore band, formed in September 1986 by Joe Denunzio, Matt Domino, Dave Ring and Chris Clift. They disbanded in 1996. Infest, while not coining the term "powerviolence", were pioneers of the style. The Los Angeles quartet blended the ethos, speed and song structure of straight edge hardcore, along with the aggression and anger of bands like Negative Approach and Negative FX. Joe Denunzio’s vocals exhibited angst, with lyrical content about conformity, war, scene politics and socio-political issues, mostly delivered in an accusational assault. Infest did however differ from their peers in their fervent political stance and imagery, often depicting the tragedies of war and poverty, countering the obligatory "band in action" album covers common to the era. On July 1, 1991, Infest recorded a live set for the Los Angeles radio station KXLU. This session was later released by Deep Six Records who also released the No Man's Slave LP. DIR YASSIN

The band formed in December 1997 from the ashes of other local hardcore bands. The original line-up was Kobbi (guitar, ex-Urban Skate Fanatics), Fede (drums, ex-USF as well), Haim (bass, ex-Wackout, Shma Israel), Adi (vocals, ex, uh, about half of the local bands ever: Public Domain, Ethos, Useless ID, Shma Israel, Nekhei Naatza - and also played with Negative Impact for a while) and Federico (ex Nekhei Naatza and temporary member of USF). The name was chosen as an effort to bring the sublimed bloody facts of Zionism and Israel's history back into its collective consciousness. After rehearsing for a couple of months, we were ready to make our first appearance, as the only hardcore band in an all Black/Metal gig in the city of Haifa, held in April 1998. That show was interesting, despite the fact that we only managed to play a couple of songs (see interview in Profane Existence for details)...

TUSSOCK Originally formed by Acad in late 1999 with two other members, Hafiz and Bujal in Muar, Johor. These Muarian crustgrinder later on invited Fadzee/Ganga (VIOLENCE) to joined the band’s. In 2001,TUSSOCK participating a compilations project and with the absent of Bujal ( bass ) due to his commitment to his new job in Shah Alam, Selangor. They vomiting 4 tracks for JOHOR HARDCORE COMPILATIONS ( BROKEN NOISE ).

TUSSOCK were invited to entering studio in 2002 to record an EP. The EP will be released by GRUNDAR PRODUCTIONS owned by Prop (ARGON/PARKINSON) and Fadzee with Acad decided to recruit new comrade and Sopex (SACR) to fit in. But two week after before the recording begin, Hafiz leave the band without giving any reason. Luckily they found Fauzi (NARSAMUM/DAMOKIS) that willing to help thru the recording process.2003,Out Of Rhyme EP’s was released.

CARCASS - Reek Of Putrefaction

Carcass are an extreme metal band from England, who formed in 1985 and disbanded in 1995. A reunion was enacted in 2008 without one of its original members, drummer Ken Owen, due to health reasons. Although widely regarded as pioneers of the grindcore genre, their early work was also tagged as splatter death metal, hardgore,and goregrind; on account of their morbid lyrics and gruesome album covers. However, they also became one of the pioneers in the subgenre known as melodic death metal with their 1993 album Heartwork...taken from Wikipedia.

EYES POPPING OUT

E.P.O telah diasaskan dan di tubuhkan oleh Raub(drum) dan Moha(gitar,vocal) pada awal 2006.Dengan bermulanya sebagai two piece band ,E.P.O mula mencipta lagu mereka sendiri.Di samping membawa lagu-lagu cover dari band2 yang bertunjangkan crust,punk dan metal.Diantara lagu terawal yang di cipta ialah ‘SLAVE OF THE FUCKING BASTARDS’ dan ‘WAR FUCKING WAR’.E.P.O sangat prihatin dengan isu-isu semasa yang berlaku samaada yang telah menjadi sejarah atau pun masa kini.Di sebabkan itu E.P.O telah terapkan di dalam setiap lirik E.P.O dengan bertujuan untuk memberi sedikit kesedaran kepada pendengar. 2007 E.P.O telah mula bergerak sebagai three piece band.Dengan kemasukkan seorang sahabat iaitu Shah yang telah mengambil posisi lead gitaris untuk menambahkan perisa.Dengan kemasukkan tersebut telah terciptanya sebuah lagu yang bertajuk ‘MORAL COLLAPSED’.Yang banyak mengisahkan tentang kejatuhan moral samaada pada individu,scene,agama dan juga politik. 2008 Dimana E.P.O telah pun merakamkan sebuah reh-demo yang bertajuk ‘THE WAY YOU CHOOSE,THE WAY YOU DIE’ memuatkan 3 buah lagu ciptaan mereka sendiri iaitu ‘SLAVE OF FUCKING BASTARDS’.’WAR FUCKING WAR’ dan ‘MORAL COLLAPSED’.Reh-demo tersebut telah pun di rakamkan di sebuah studio di Kluang,Johor.Dan ia tidak di jual,hanya untuk promosi sahaja .Dengan terhasilnya reh-demo tersebut E.P.O mula bergiat aktif bermain gigs disekitar Johor dan Kuala Lumpur. Raub telah pun meninggalkan E.P.O atas alasannya sendiri pada 2009.Begitu juga diikuti oleh Shah.Dan E.P.O telah pun menggantikan tempatnya dengan kemasukkan Adun(semerepang),dan Bob(basist).Dengan kemasukkan mereka, telah berlaku sedikit perubahan pada genre E.P.O yang sebelum itu lebih berteraskan brutal scandi thrashpunk dan hardcore.Adun telah memberikan sedikit touch up dengan idea blasting dan grinding nya pada instrument drum.Dan akhirnya terhasil lagi sebuah lagu baru yang bertajuk ‘MASSGRAVE’.sebenarnya ini adalah lagu ciptaan Raub.Walaupun dia telah meninggalkan E.P.O tetapi beliau masih lagi menyumbangkan lagu untuk dimuatkan didalam band ini.E.P.O tidak akan melupakan jasa beliau.Terima kasih kepada Mr.Raub. 2010 E.P.O telah pun merakamkan debut demo yang bertajuk ‘DESTRUCTIVE TECHNOLOGY’.di studio yang sama.Dan lagu2 yang sama di rakamkan kembali termasuk lagu baru ‘MASSGRAVE’ turut dimuatkan. Cuma ada sedikit perubahan daripada segi sound berbanding reh-demo 2008 dulu.Tetapi posisi drum digantikan sementara oleh Yusmira(unveiled).oleh kerana Adun tidak dapat hadir semasa sesi rakaman atas sebab-sebab tertentu.Dan sekali lagi berlaku sedikit perubahan pada arrangement muzik.Demo ini telah pun di jual dan masih dijual,dan sebahagiannya untuk trade. Dan kini 2011 E.P.O semakin mantap dengan kemasukkan Pecal(unveiled)sebagai vokalis.E.P.O sedang giat mencipta lagu2 baru yang lebih mantap n berkualiti.Nantikan kemunculan rakaman terbaru dari E.P.O yang pasti meledakkan darah,jantung n minda anda.
